eplanet Brokers is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store and share data when you use our services, in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and applicable data protection legislation.
1. Information We Collect
We collect personal information you provide directly during account registration, including your full name, date of birth, national identification number or passport details, residential address, email address, telephone number and country of residence. We also collect financial information including employment status, source of funds, net worth and trading experience.
We automatically collect technical data when you access our website or platform, including your IP address, device identifiers, browser type and version, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited and time spent on each page. This information is collected via cookies, log files and similar tracking technologies.
When you trade with us, we maintain records of all transactions, including order history, trade confirmations, account statements and communications between you and the Company. These records are retained in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
We may receive information about you from third-party identity verification providers, credit bureaus, fraud prevention agencies and publicly available sources as part of our KYC and AML compliance obligations.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information primarily to provide you with our trading services, including account management, trade execution, reporting and customer support. We process your data on the legal basis of contractual necessity — the processing is required to fulfil our obligations under the Client Agreement.
We use your information to comply with legal and regulatory obligations, including anti-money laundering checks, tax reporting, reporting to the FSCA and responding to lawful requests from law enforcement authorities. This processing is carried out on the basis of legal obligation.
With your consent, we may use your contact details to send you marketing communications about our products, promotions and educational resources. You may withdraw this consent at any time by unsubscribing via the link in our emails or contacting us directly.
We use aggregated and anonymised data derived from your usage for internal analytics, product improvement and business intelligence purposes. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
3. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We may share your personal information with liquidity providers, payment processors, identity verification services, cloud hosting providers and other third-party service providers who assist us in delivering our services. All such providers are contractually bound to process your data only as instructed by us and to maintain appropriate security standards.
We may disclose your information to regulatory authorities, law enforcement agencies, courts or other public bodies where required by law or where we believe such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of eplanet Brokers, our clients or the public.
In the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of all or a portion of the Company's assets, your personal information may be transferred to the acquiring entity, subject to equivalent data protection obligations.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Data Retention and Your Rights
We retain your personal information for the duration of our relationship with you and for a period of five years thereafter, in accordance with FSCA record-keeping requirements and the Prevention of Organised Crime Act. Some categories of data may be retained for longer periods where required by law.
Under POPIA and applicable data protection law, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, object to processing in certain circumstances, and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

We implement technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss or destruction. These include encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls, regular security assessments and staff training.
